Two Formats Available: Legacy Format and  Format |
UICC is a 3G (U)SIM card that is also backwards
compatible with the 2G technology. This means that
during this period of 2G to 3G exchange, operators
can issue 
UICC cards directly so to avoid
unexpected interruption of services. Subscribers may
also use UICC cards as an intermediary medium to
upgrade from a 2G handset to a 3G hand-held device.
